At the Faculties of Engineering, Science and Medicine, Department of Media Technology (Ballerup Section) a position as Associate Professor in Medialogy (position no. 40981) is open for appointment from 01.08.2008.
Job description:
The position is available from 01.08.2008 or soon after.

Research areas will be within HCI (Human Computer Interaction) and mathematical modelling. HCI covers new methods and equipment for interaction e.g. with multi modal interfaces used for computer games, education or other areas.

Matemathical modelling should preferably be in the areas of computer graphics, animation and virtual reality. Further on, pedagogical research in relation to teaching of matemathics in multidisciplinary educations like Medialogy will be an advantage.

Teaching will primarily be in Medialogy, but also in other study programmes at the University.

The level of qualification for Associate Professors shall correspond to the level, which can be achieved on the basis of the appointment as Assistant Professor, but may be achievable in other ways. The appointment presupposes that the applicant can demonstrate original scientific production at an international level as well as documented teaching qualifications.

Qualification requirements:
Appointment to the position requires that both research and teaching qualifications are at the requested level. The two qualifications will be given equal and principal priority in the overall assessment.

Appointment and salary acc. to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC) on Academics in the State and the Ministerial Circular on Job Structure valid for academic staff working with research and teaching at universities under the Ministry of Research which can be seen on: http://www.aau.dk/fak-tekn/personplan/.

- Education
- Research qualifications. List of publications with indication of which works the applicant considers particularly relevant must be enclosed, as well as 3 copies of each of the works the applicant wishes to be considered by the assessment committee
- Teaching qualifications.

Furthermore information on personal data and previous employment is also required.

An assessment committee will assess all candidates.
